Did you know Knots & Kisses started life as a wedding stationery company? Obviously, it’s evolved and changed a lot since then, but my passion for paper, illustration and graphic design remains. Although I no longer offer stationery as a standalone service, it’s still a key part of the work I do for my styling clients. I believe it plays a crucial role in the overall look and feel of your wedding.

When you work with me, every detail of your day, including any stationery, will be cohesive and carefully chosen. I design the basis of your stationery as part of the mood board and styling plan I create for your wedding. Sometimes, it even serves as the starting point for the whole design!

What is On-the-Day Wedding Stationery?

Although most people know they need wedding invitations, not everyone is familiar with on-the-day stationery (sometimes called reception stationery). Here’s a list of bits and pieces you might need:

  • Order of service/order of the day
  • Table plan
  • Table names/numbers
  • Place cards
  • Menus
  • Signage

Style & Function

As well as looking good, on-the-day stationery can have a huge impact on your guests’ experience. In fact, it can really make or break the smooth running of your day!

For example, consider the role of a table plan and place cards. They’re designed to direct guests to their seats. Although less important at smaller weddings, I’ve seen the carnage that occurs when a large number of wedding guests are allowed to pick their own seat. Without a table plan to help them find their way, things can get chaotic very quickly!

In a similar vein, signage is becoming increasingly important, especially at larger venues with lots of different spaces for guests to spread themselves across. Things like cocktail or bar signs, a welcome sign or an ‘order of day’ board can give your guests useful information and help keep things running smoothly. As you can see from the pictures below, they’re great for styling too!
