When I designed my Vintage Christmas range I wanted to create an invitation suite which wasn’t too overly ‘Christmas’ themed. Although there is a hint of holly in the design I wanted to create something that didn’t feel like it was like walking into Santa’s Grotto! Rather I wanted a subtle rustic feel which would be suitable to all couples getting married over the winter months even if they weren’t going for a full on Christmas theme.
The rustic feel gives that cosy warm feeling we associate with winter with a brown paper print, a touch of tartan and a hint of holly.
The new photos of the range try and echo that feel – taken against a warm wooden background. The Day Invitation Packs are a folded style with an internal pocket for rsvp and information cards and the range comes with a full collection of matching stationery – including tartan print placecards.
To match the range I have come up with a new rustic Christmas inspiration moodboard. I wanted subtle Christmas details such as the cinnamon sticks, hints of tartan and brown tweed and lots of warm fabrics to create that cosy rustic feel. Incorporating the red and green with browns and creams, rather than the usually sparkly Christmas golds, helps keep it more of a subtle theme than overly Christmassy.
