Wow where the heck did the year go! I’m sitting here not quite able to understand how it’s almost the end of September already … which means it’s been a very long time since I last posted on this blog and so much has happened since then. It’s been a very busy summer here at Knots & Kisses. I’ve got lots of exciting news to share in the upcoming weeks. Including a total rebrand and new look for the business and the launch of my brand new styling services which I’m massively excited about! But I guess I should start with our wedding! The main reason I’ve been so flat out over the summer is because I took a month out for our wedding and honeymoon at the end of May.

Here come the cliche’s but yes it honestly was the best day of my life! No matter what anyone tells you in the lead up you never quite believe that it’s going to feel any different to any other big party or occasion but it really does. The ceremony itself was actually incredibly emotional. Much more than I expected. Yes the whole day was wonderful. I loved flitting round chatting to all my friends and family. Seeing their happy faces and sharing with them all the fun and food and music we had spent so long planning was amazing. Dancing the night away to the best band ever! Lots of laughter over seeing people dressed up in the Photobooth props. Tucking in to the amazing popcorn bar, ice-cream, afternoon tea, dessert cart and cocktails.

However, far and away the best bit of the day for me was walking down the staircase at Coombe Trenchard to see Ant at the bottom waiting for me. I’ll never forget his face at that moment. Walking to the front of the room together hand in hand was the best decision we ever made. It just seemed right after 11 years together. The ceremony was relaxed, informal and fun just as we  wanted it and then then rest of the day couldn’t have been more relaxed if we tried. Planning and spreadsheeting the hell out of it for months before hand and then just relaxing and handing it over to the amazing Sarah & Emily at Coombe Trenchard the day before couldn’t have worked better. I was totally at ease on the day and everything worked perfectly. The sun even came out about half an hour before the ceremony and we ended up with a beautifully warm day after a morning of rain!

My advice to any of you out there who are also wedding planning … Plan the wedding you want as a couple. Not the wedding your parents or family want you to have or the wedding you think you should have, but one that truly reflects who you are. Do this and I guarantee you’ll have a wonderful day!
