One of the biggest trends I’ve seen in weddings over the past few months is off the shoulder wedding dresses. Whether this be a more relaxed bohemian look with pretty tulle sleeves draping off the shoulder, or a more structured princess style dress with a traditional off the shoulder silohuette … if 2015 was the year of the back with lots of backless wedding dresses, then it seems that 2016 is set to be the year of the shoulder!
I’ve been looking for some of my favourite off the shoulder wedding dresses from designers around the internet and pinterest and wanted to share with you some of the gorgeous styles on offer.
Bohemian
As I mentioned this is all about shoulders and sleeves softly draping off the shoulder. The dress itself is generally also softly draped and would work perfectly with a festival tipi wedding, with gorgeous sandles, or on a beach or tropical wedding. One of my favourites is this gorgeous number from the Saja Collection …
Classic
These are dresses which are perfect if you want that classic structured look to your wedding dress, with a full skirt and nipped in waist – but with just the ‘something different’ detail of it being off the shoulder which I think can often look a lot more elegant and flattering that a strapless dress.
Tea Dress
Following on from the trend in more casual and fun weddings the tea length dress has become incredibly popular for Brides looking for a more relaxed feel to their wedding day, and these dresses are also now seeing options in an off the shoulder format – often with beautiful lace sleeves that are off the shoulder.
Hopefully this has given you a few different ideas as to how you can encorporate off the shoulder wedding dresses in to your bridal look and shows that there is an off the shoulder dress out there for everyone.
