With Christmas almost upon us and 2022 just around the corner, it seems like the perfect time to reflect on the last 12 months. It hasn’t been the easiest year on record, but there’s still been plenty of things worth celebrating. Here are just a few of Knots & Kisses’ best bits…

A Full Summer of Knots & Kisses Weddings

The biggest highlight of the year was obviously being able to style a full summer of weddings. Some had been postponed from 2020 while others were original 2021 weddings. We created all sorts of looks in some incredible venues – think pretty, modern barn weddings, candlelit garden ceremonies, classic country house celebrations and even full-on boho pampas clouds in a four-storey mill! It was wonderful to see so many people back enjoying weddings again.

Deer Park Open Weekend

The end of lockdown also allowed us to team up with Keeping it Vintage, Emma Hewlett Floral Design and Claire Makes Cakes to decorate Deer Park ahead of their open weekend. Social distancing was still in place, so we couldn’t be there on the day, but we made the venue look really beautiful for the weekend’s appointments.

Beautiful Ceremony Backdrops & Frames

We increased our backdrop-only hire service massively in 2021. Personally, I love a ceremony backdrop. Not only is it one of the most photographed locations on your wedding day, it’s also a perfect opportunity to do something creative and unique. Our stylish range is perfect for smaller weddings, with our hexagon and triangle designs proving particularly popular in 2021. You can learn more about ceremony backdrops here.

Stylish Editorial Shoots

It was so good to finally get back to styled shoots this year! I really missed being creative with other suppliers in 2020. In May, after several postponements, we worked with World Inspired Tents to create a boho celestial vibe for their tipis. The shoot was recently featured in the December edition of Wed Magazine. The following month, we also collaborated with Vintage Camperbooths to create a laidback, relaxed boho Hawaii style look in Exmouth. This shoot was featured on Rock My Wedding.

Remote Styling with Boconnion

Remote styling became a big thing in 2021! We not only created styling plans for couples we were unable to support in-person, but we also collaborated with the gorgeous Cornish wedding venue, Boconnion. They needed help putting together looks for two branding and marketing shoots. We created two very different styling plans, Classic and Miami Pool Party, which they then implemented themselves.

Not Your Average Wedding Showcase

After two years of organising, we were finally able to put on the wedding show at Ashridge Barn in October. We went through a lot to make this showcase happen, so it was amazing to see visitors interacting with exhibitors, taking part in workshops, listening to wonderful live music and chatting over amazing food and drink. We’re already discussing plans for next year’s showcase, so keep an eye out for an exciting announcement soon.

Finally Celebrating My Husband’s 40th Birthday

On a personal note, I loved getting together with a handful of friends to celebrate my husband Ant’s postponed 40th birthday celebrations. Is it just me or do these things feel extra special after everything we’ve been through over the last couple of years?

I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year from Knots & Kisses! See you in 2022!
