We eat with our eyes before anything else, so if you’re serving sweet treats at your wedding, you’ll want to create a delicious display. Here’s how to style a cake table or dessert station…

Get Creative
Gone are the days when your wedding cake had to be a) just a cake or b) presented on a small round table topped with a plain white linen tablecloth. As you can see from the images throughout this post, there are lots of unusual ways to display cakes and desserts. You don’t have to use a standard cake table, or even a traditional cake stand.

Style It Up
Make your cake or dessert table a real focal point with fabric backdrops, bespoke signage or even a cake tipi (available to hire from Knots & Kisses). If space is limited, make sure there’s a beautiful runner, some florals and a couple of gorgeous candles to dress the cake table.
If you’re creating a dessert station or serving multiple cakes, think about levels. Use cake stands, boxes and crates to display things at different heights. You can also use a range of vessels and serving dishes to present things, especially smaller items like macarons.

Encourage Collaboration
If you’ve called in a professional Wedding Stylist like me, be sure to connect them with your Cake Designer so they can work closely together and figure out what will best suit the cake or desserts that are being created
