Happy New Year! (*Pops champagne corks and party poppers in excitement and sprays the air with glitter!) . Wherever you are and whatever you have been up to this festive season then I hope you had a wonderful New Year celebration! I wrote this post before heading off to Morocco for Christmas so hopefully I also had a great New Year partying in Marrakech and haven’t got too much of a hangover for our flight back to the UK this afternoon!
2015 was an amazing year for Knots & Kisses and I’m now looking forward to an even more amazing 2016!
I’m excited to be launching some brand new products this year … I have so many ideas whirring through my brain at the moment! … but I’ll definitely be starting with a new ‘Luxe Collection’ which I am hoping to launch in the next couple of months and I have been working on now for several months. The idea is to create a luxurious, scrumptious and utterly pretty capsule collection which will encompass all the design aesthetics I love in the stationery I design but with a little bit extra in terms of even more luxurious card, silk ribbons and copper and gold foiled details! I just can’t wait to get it all ready to launch and share with you so that is definitely one the things I’m most excited about for this year!
I’m also looking forward to a very busy start to the year exhibiting at the Exeter Castle Wedding Fair on the 16th and 17th of January http://www.bluefizzevents.co.uk/the-decidedly-different-vintage-wedding-fair-2016/, and also the Wedding Showcase at the Bath Showground on the 20th and 21st of February http://www.wedding-showcase.com/. Even more exciting / terrifying is that I will be giving a little talk and demo at the Showcase on ‘Picking a Wedding Theme’ and talking all about creating moodboards through Pinterest and how to use your wedding stationery as a starting point for a theme.
Looking forward even further I’ll be exhibiting at Bride The Wedding Show at Westpoint Arena in Exeter on the 8th and 9th October.
On a personal level I’m can’t believe it but this year it will be 10 years since I met my amazing other half Ant! I know it’s a cliche but he’s 100% my rock and Knots & Kisses wouldn’t even exist if it wasn’t for his amazing support and technical expertise … he even ended up coming up with the name when I started the company 6 years ago! We are celebrating our anniversary by going back to where we met and pitching up at the Isle of Wight Festival in June with a few friends. I can’t wait! Much as I love camping for the first time we’ll be taking a campervan instead … perhaps a sign of the 10 years that have passed lol! The Stereophonics and Faithless are already confirmed headliners on the Friday night so I just know it’s going to be amazing. I have been so busy over the last few years that we just haven’t got round to going to a festival for ages and seeing live music and going to festivals is so important to me it will be great to get back into the swing!
We’ll also be looking forward this year to moving to Torquay! Of course this will involve the complicated process of moving the business … but I am itching beyond belief to get started on renovating the 6 bedroom house we are buying in Torquay, which will also involve converting 3 rooms in the basement into my new studio space for Knots & Kisses! I will definitely be sharing my renovation story here on the blog if you want to see how it goes.
So hears looking forward to an amazing, fun, and colourful 2016! May your year be as exciting … especially if you got engaged over the festive period and are planning your wedding!
