I love a fun and quirky design brief for a client’s wedding invitations and stationery and boy did I get one when I spoke to Emily & Ben at the South West Wedding Showcase at Bath Showground last year! Their opening lining was pretty much “we’re having a dinosaur wedding theme, do you think this is something you could do ?” … to which I got very excited and practically had to stop myself from jumping up and down on the spot! Who wouldn’t love to work on a dinosaur wedding theme and invitations to match!

A little later Emily got back in touch and we had a chat via the phone to go into a little more detail about what they wanted from their bespoke invitations.

The colour scheme was a really striking black and white monochrome with a hit of orange … perfect for Jurassic Park fans! The colour scheme was perfect as I was able to incorporate the dinosaur theme without the whole thing looking too childish.

I designed a full suite including a lovely little orange information booklet which incorporated all the details that they needed to give their guests in a handy little guide. I did this for my own invitations and it worked out really well so was glad to use this format again for a client. The invitations were layered up with the information booklet, rsvp card and a belly band to give a really luxe look and crisp white 350gsm card and envelopes made for a really fun but modern feel.

I’m pleased to say Emily and Ben were over the moon with the result and I’m seriously looking forward to working with them again on their reception stationery later in the year!
