A few weekends ago I had the pleasure of exhibiting at a wedding fair at Saunton Sands Hotel on the North Devon Coast. Apart from the absolutely stunning views, which really are spectacular, one of the loveliest things about the hotel is its Art Deco character. They have carried them them inside with some lovely deco touches in black, ivory and gold and so I was thrilled that I had decided to take along my Deco Glamour wedding invitations range to exhibit and it went down really well with some of the couples there who had already booked to get married in the hotel and wanted to carry on the Art Deco theme.

I’ve also been a huge fan of the Art Deco look, ever since I was a teenager, and spent Saturday afternoons browsing through the ‘antique style’ wares in Pasttimes .. which was huge in the nineties but I think sadly no longer exists. When I think Art Deco I immediately think Gatsby and that’s definitely the feeling I wanted to create with my Deco Glamour range. I found that you can find lots of deco style wedding invitations but not many of them really incorporated all the striking black and gold that I loved. So my Deco Glamour range is unashamedly predominantly black to create the real Gatsby feeling, with fan details in a dark gold colour.

When Clare Kinchin Photography took new photographs of all of my stationery for my website relaunch back in September I knew I wanted the Deco Glamour range to have a really sumptuous vintage feel so I styled it with velvet and lace and some old jewellery and pocket watches.

When I updated the website I decided that the Deco Glamour range needed a little bit of a modern update and so I added a striking monogrammed belly band to co-ordinate with the invitations. You can order directly from my website at http://knotsandkisses-co-uk.stackstaging.com/beta/product-category/vintage-collection/vintage-collection-deco-glamour/ and I’ve created a full range of wedding invitations, save the date cards and matching reception stationery.

As part of updating all of my existing ranges I have been doing one of the things I really love to do when I create wedding stationery and that is put together a matching inspiration moodboard to inspire clients who want to purchase this range for their own wedding. I really think this helps couples visualise how their wedding scheme will work. For the deco glamour moodboard I have tried to inject as much Gatsby style as I possible can with lots of sparkly gold, simmering satin and beautiful art deco details.
