Wow where the heck did the year go! I’m sitting here not quite able to understand how it’s almost the end of September already … which means it’s been a very long time since I last posted on this blog and so much has happened since then. It’s been a very busy summer here at Knots & Kisses. I’ve got lots of exciting news to share in the upcoming weeks. Including a total rebrand and new look for the business and the launch of my brand new styling services which I’m massively excited about! But I guess I should start with our wedding! The main reason I’ve been so flat out over the summer is because I took a month out for our wedding and honeymoon at the end of May.
Here come the cliche’s but yes it honestly was the best day of my life! No matter what anyone tells you in the lead up you never quite believe that it’s going to feel any different to any other big party or occasion but it really does. The ceremony itself was actually incredibly emotional. Much more than I expected. Yes the whole day was wonderful. I loved flitting round chatting to all my friends and family. Seeing their happy faces and sharing with them all the fun and food and music we had spent so long planning was amazing. Dancing the night away to the best band ever! Lots of laughter over seeing people dressed up in the Photobooth props. Tucking in to the amazing popcorn bar, ice-cream, afternoon tea, dessert cart and cocktails.
However, far and away the best bit of the day for me was walking down the staircase at Coombe Trenchard to see Ant at the bottom waiting for me. I’ll never forget his face at that moment. Walking to the front of the room together hand in hand was the best decision we ever made. It just seemed right after 11 years together. The ceremony was relaxed, informal and fun just as we wanted it and then then rest of the day couldn’t have been more relaxed if we tried. Planning and spreadsheeting the hell out of it for months before hand and then just relaxing and handing it over to the amazing Sarah & Emily at Coombe Trenchard the day before couldn’t have worked better. I was totally at ease on the day and everything worked perfectly. The sun even came out about half an hour before the ceremony and we ended up with a beautifully warm day after a morning of rain!
My advice to any of you out there who are also wedding planning … Plan the wedding you want as a couple. Not the wedding your parents or family want you to have or the wedding you think you should have, but one that truly reflects who you are. Do this and I guarantee you’ll have a wonderful day!

Its getting to that time of year where the heating comes on and all I want to do is snuggle up under a blanket in front of the fire … however it’s also the time of year when I start to get lots of lovely enquiries from lots of couples who want to order bespoke stationery for their wedding next Spring or Summer … so designing stationery whilst in front of the fire is ok right?
Also this week I’ve been doing lots of work on creating a free pdf for anyone who visits the website to be able to download giving them lots of advice, hints and tips on what to know when ordering your wedding stationery. This subscription also means you get an update from this blog each week with all of my news and wedding inspiration blogs so I’m very excited to start sharing this with those that sign up!
The other really exciting thing which is going on at the moment is that we are in the process of buying a house! We have been renting since we moved to Devon 3 years ago but now we have sold our London flat and have found a really beautiful house in Torquay so Knots & Kisses will hopefully soon be on the move! Its very exciting as the house needs quite a bit of work so hopefully soon and (fingers crossed) the house purchase goes through ok, I’ll be sharing updates on the redecorating process as I love interior design almost as much as I love weddings!
Back to weddings and there has been lots of gorgeous inspiration from the internet this week that I want to share with you. So here’s my round up of the best bits …
Firstly I was absolutely delighted to see this shoot by the lovely Sarah at the Juno & Joy blog of the new Launcells Barton wedding venue in Cornwall. Shot by the fantastic Pete Cox Photography it also features stationery which I designed specifically for the shoot and which I may well be developing as part of a new range next year! http://www.junoandjoy.co.uk/inspiration/launcells-barton-elegant-wedding-style/
All couples getting married should check out this fantastic guide to Modern Day Wedding Etiquette on the Love My Dress blog this week http://www.lovemydress.net/blog/2015/10/a-modern-day-guide-to-wedding-etiquette.html .. essential reading for those of you worrying about what you should and shouldn’t be doing at your wedding and being hassled by older relatives about how things ‘should be done’!
On the Rock My Wedding blog I loved the colourful and really relaxed wedding of Sarah & Micky http://www.rockmywedding.co.uk/sarah-micky/ by Dale Weeks Photography
I also adored this incredibly pretty Tuscan inspired wedding on the Style Me Pretty blog http://www.stylemepretty.com/2015/10/21/tuscan-inspired-saratoga-villa-wedding/
Have a fabulous weekend!
I love finding new dresses to share with you and today I’ve got a few gems from this season’s collection at Coast www.coast-stores.com which would be perfect for the more relaxed Bride or if you were looking for a second dress with a more party feel for your reception. So many more Bride’s are doing this these days … and as you can see from the fact that Coast’s dresses start at £150 … it’s definitely affordable and gives you a bit more freedom whilst your dancing the night away!
Many of you may have gathered over the months of reading my blog that I am a bit partial to a festival style wedding! My other half and I met at the Isle of Wight Festival and so, if we were ever to get married, this is definitely the style of wedding I would go for.
I love the idea of a relaxing day outdoors ( with emergency marquees in case it rains of course! ) filled with good music, food and friends.
I was therefore delighted to find out that the lovely Amanda from ‘Billy One Horn’ www.billyonehorn.co.uk , who I met at the Milton Keynes Vintage Wedding Fair earlier this year and did some logo design work for, has started to hire out her gorgeous farm for Weddings!
She has already been providing gorgeous glamping caravans and has now branched out, with the help of the girls from Festival Brides http://festivalbrides.co.uk/fb-venuesland-hire to provide weddings.
Festival Brides is a great blog which provides lots of great inspiration for those of us that love a Festival Wedding and also provides an increasing list of land hire options for your wedding as well.
Billy One Horn has joined this list …
If you are looking for a festival wedding venue with a vintage twist then this field is perfect for you. Located on a farm near Milton Keynes, the field sits amongst 40 acres of ridge and furrow grassland, pretty trees and has a quaint beck running through the middle. You can marry under a decorated tree whilst your family and friends sit on hay bales amongst the styled retro caravans! It’s a beautiful and natural setting for a relaxed festival wedding.
The field has great access with plenty of space for camping. Guests also have the option of staying at the farm’s boutique B&B and vintage caravans.
When picturing your wedding here, think relaxed and informal with plenty of vintage style options and countryside as far as the eye can see!
